March Meat Haul

This month we got 5 extra pounds of meat since we didn’t get everything we were supposed to in February.

The haul this time:

• 1 lb eye of round x 3
• 1 lb beef stew meat
• 1 lb bacon x 2
• 2 lb ham steak
• 4 lb ham roast
• 3 lb country spare ribs
• 1 lb ground lamb
• 1 lb ground pork

Yeehaw.

But still no chickens. I have signed up with Pete and Jen’s Backyard Birds to get some chickens in the fall, as well as 18 lb of pork (which I hope lasts much of the winter).

Plus I’m looking into a meat CSA with a closer drop-off for July-August.

One more dinner with Meat Share

I’ve been bad about blogging the meat share dinners, but here’s an old shot of our chili. It’s from a Cooking Light recipe, but I keep not having the exact ingredients and so something is always different. And yes, we eat our chili on rice; you wanna make something of it?
